How to Fly a Paper Bird

Fly, Lovebird. Fly!
To celebrate this season
We need your old songs

You might have seen rosy-faced lovebirds singing in your neighborhood trees if you live in the Phoenix metropolitan area. It is one of the very few places on Earth where these light green southwest Africa-native birds survive in the wilderness outside their homeland.

Seeing the lovebirds makes me think of humans who came from different places. We all came here with precious souvenirs to share with our new neighbors. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could have a party where each of us shares our treasures? How can we make it happen?

Continue the Lines

Renga is an old Japanese poetry game in which a first poet creates the first three lines of 5-7-5 syllables, and the second the last two lines of 7-7 syllables.

Would you be interested in continuing this poetry? If you share your words, you will receive a link to a webcam version of the installation where you can join us as a lovebird from anywhere!
