Hoctún Trees, 2012, outdoor paint on walls, series of six 6’ x 10’ murals, Hoctún Yucatán, México
I painted murals for Felipe Carrillo Puerto elementary school in Hoctún, a small town in Mexico. All of the walls were a uniform yellow, like the school buildings behind them. So, I painted local trees, plants, and animals. The schoolchildren assisted me in preparing the walls, as well as painting a background portraying the Hoctún sky.
